Passed away Fiday, May 29 1987 in Plainwell. Mrs. Brown was born in Martin, MI, January 6 1910, the daughter of the late Floyd and Minnie Hurley. She was a longtime resident of Plainwell, living at the same residence for 60 years and more recently spent her winters in Zephyr Hills, FL. She was a member of the Puthlan Sisters of Plainwell and also the Gunplain Grange and the Gun River Conservation Club and the Club of Past Chiefs of the Phythian Sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reon D Brown on December 22 1981. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Beatrice and Wayne VanWeelden of Long Lake; LaVerne Brown of Troy, MI and Harold and Nancy Brown of Plainwell; grandchildren, Dennis and Pam VanWeelden of Kalamazoo; Cindy and Brad Boven of Kalamazoo; Linda and Terry Moed of West Palm Beach, FL; David and Julie Brown of New Orleans, LA; Jeff Brown and Judy Brown of Detroit; Bill and Terri Brown and Patrick Brown of Plainwell; six great-grandchildren, one brother, Carlton (Stub) Hurley of Plainwell; one sister in law, Mrs. Iola Giesbrecht of Plainwell. Friends may pay their last respects today from 7 to 9pm and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at the chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday, Jun 1 1987 at 1:00 at the chapel with Dr. Richard Cushnie officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell. Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice of Allegan County. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
