Inscriptions copied July 1939 by Ruth Robbins Monteith

On Jan 1, 1866, the Fairfield Cemetery Association purchased from Allen Wood and wife, 3/8 acres of land described as the SW corner of the E 1/2 of the SW 1/4 of Section 5. It is now neglected. It has several depressions where the earth has settled or the body has been removed, probably to Oakwood Cemetery in Allegan City.
